A time machine for the planet: Ryan Orbuch's Natural General Intelligence
A foundation model trained on the planet itself would estimate where Earth's systems are now and run them forward, which is, effectively, a time machine. An audacious, fundable ask, well made; what it glosses over is that the challenge is social before it is technical, and that there will be many such models, not one.
